Curatorial Statement
“My paintings emerge from an obsession with light — how morning mist diffuses gold through jacaranda branches, how monsoon rain wraps heritage terracotta in quiet indigo, and how oil glazes catch the evening lamplight in an intimate room.”

Artist Biography

Tanusree Roy is an Indian contemporary landscape and abstract oil painter based in Bangalore. Trained in classical oil painting with a deep reverence for the European masters and Indian heritage architecture, her works are held in private collections across Bangalore, Mumbai, London, Dubai, and Singapore. She works predominantly with pure artist-grade pigments, walnut oil, cold wax, and hand-stretched Belgian linen.

Growing up between coastal Kerala and the hill plantations of Coonoor, her visual sensibility was shaped early by morning sea mists, drenched mossy stones, and the golden hour sun slicing through plantation canopies. Her paintings do not aim for sterile realism, but rather for the emotional resonance of being immersed in nature's quietest hours.
